Sam is chief economist at SAK Economics, LLC. He was chief economist at BNSF Railway from November 2002 to April 2018, when he retired from BNSF after 30 years at the railroad. He is a certified business economist (CBE) with over 40 years of total work experience (30 years in the rail industry). His current activities include consulting, keynote presentations and volunteering on boards. Sam has made presentations to the Federal Reserve Board, the Council of Economic Advisors and many rail shippers and suppliers.
Sam, who is an American citizen, was born in Ghana, West Africa.
