Mr. Naatz is executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Kansas City Southern (KCS) (NYSE: KSU). In this role, he is responsible for sales, marketing, customer solutions and business development activities. Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, KCS is a transportation holding company that has railroad investments in the U.S., Mexico and Panama. Its primary U.S. holding is The Kansas City Southern Railway Company. Its international holdings include Kansas City Southern de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. and Panama Canal Railway Company. KCS’ North American rail holdings and strategic alliances with other North American rail partners are primary components of a unique railway system, linking the commercial and industrial centers of the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
Mr. Naatz has over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry. He joined the company in 2012 as senior vice president and chief information officer and was promoted to senior vice president operations support and chief information officer in 2014. Before joining KCS, he was president of YRC Holland, a division of YRC Worldwide (YRC). Prior to that role, he was YRC’s chief customer officer, leading the sales, IT, customer service, pricing and quality teams. In previous positions with YRC, he led the IT, customer service, revenue management, billing and quality initiatives, and managed the successful integration of Yellow and Roadway. He also managed equipment services, network engineering, risk management, revenue management, cross-border operations, procurement, marketing, accounts payable and payroll. Prior to YRC, he was vice president and chief information officer for USF. He joined USF in 1994 and held various management and executive positions in operations and IT.
Mr. Naatz holds a master of business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Illinois. He earned a certificate in distribution management from DePaul University. He is a National Private Truck Council certified transportation professional and member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
He is on the board of directors of TTX Company, a leading provider of railcars and related freight car management services to the North American rail industry; and, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.Back to Speakers
