John Hack
Rail Operations Director, Marathon Petroleum Corporation
As the Rail Operations Director for Marathon Petroleum, John is responsible for the corporate rail activities of the largest refiner in the United States. John has done extensive work in support of rail business development projects including the expansion of Marathon’s crude, natural gas liquids, and renewables business. He has over 20 years of logistics experience including operating experience with Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway. John currently serves as the Chairman of the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturer’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and is active in a variety of rail shipper advocacy efforts. John is a veteran of the United States Navy and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois.
John lives in San Antonio, TX. In his spare time, he dabbles in local theater, plays golf, and spends time with his family. He is a volunteer and member of Twin Sisters Dance Hall in Blanco, TX; a non-profit committed to preserving the arts and culture of the Texas Hill Country.
