About Bruce Mann

Bruce Mann is the Director, Freight Mobility for Port Houston.  He is responsible for maritime related freight transportation activities and identifying and supporting freight transportation projects that improve access to Port of Houston facilities (public and private) in order to enable growth in commerce, increase transportation options and reduce transportation costs.  Mr. Mann is the Second Vice President for the North American Rail Shippers Association, on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Association of Rail Shippers, on the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast Rail District, on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Center for Houston’s Future, a BayTran Board Member, a member of the Greater Houston Freight Committee, a member of the Houston Transportation Club, and a member of the Houston Transportation Professionals Association.  Bruce is also Vice Chair of the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Transportation Safety Committee, Chair of H-GAC’s Transportation Systems Mgt and Ops Subcommittee, a member of H-GAC’s Technical Advisory Committee and Regional Transportation Plan Committee, and the Greater Houston Partnership’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  Bruce is a dynamic public speaker that is recognized as a freight and transportation industry expert, he was recently recognized by both the North American Rail Shippers Association and the Southwest Association of Rail Shippers as their 2020 Person of the Year.  Mr. Mann is also actively involved in engaging in the fight against Human Trafficking in the Houston region and has been recognized for this work by the Center for Houston’s Future as their 2018 Impact Person and by Global Supply Chain Leaders’ 2018 Compassionate Executive of the Year.   Bruce has a MBA from the University of Phoenix Houston Campus and an undergraduate degree from Jacksonville University.
